Excitement Is In The Air

Yes exsitement is in the air. Do you want to know why? We are going to FOSTER!!!! HORAY. For the first time we are going to camp at Foster. Now we can come back to school and agree with what everyone else says about Foster (not the bad stuff). On top of that it will be Easter. Can you think of how excited you get, just to the fact that you will wake up to a million chocolate Easter eggs, then think of the excitement of knowing that when you wake up you will have breaky and set off to an amazing adventure, then add them both together, it all adds up to… my head exploding!

Oh… only ONE down to it all. IM NOT A CAMPING GIRL! Yes thats right people im a nice hotel/shopping center girl, but dont get me wrong i LOVE the beach its just, well lets just put it this way, we put up the tent yesterday to make sure there were no spiders and I unrolled my new sleeping bag and half an hour later I chose to put it back in its case…. 15 mins later…Iam still (quite stressfully) TRYING to put it back! untill Aj came to help, I was still severeley struggling. OH DEER I WONDER HOW IM GOING TO COPE? Ill be fine, I hope.

  1. The secret with sleeping bags is to keep stuffing them in. Roll it up tightly & then stuff, stuff, stuff.
I’m not really a camping girl either, and my advice is to have an air mattress or pad under your sleeping bag, and to take your pillow. Not popular options with dads who pack the car!

  2. Cherish this time. It is so very fun! Have a blast and you might just discover that you are a camping girl after all!! Air matress a MUST, as is your pillow!

  3. Definately take your pillow and some extra toilet paper too (just in case)
Have a great time. Happy Easter…

    cheers kim

  4. Have a GRAND time at Foster! I’ve heard wonderful things about it as well - as so many of my students would spend holidays there when I was teaching. I would LOVE to visit there some day so I’ll look forward to hearing all about your trip when you get back.
Keep working on your sleeping bag - you’ll get the hang of it after awhile but it was very nice of AJ to help you.
I hope your mum and I can organize another get together soon as it would be great to see you again.

  5. Have you ever tried putting a toy back in the box it came in. Well, the same diabolical people that make the packaging make sleeping bags. Really. Would I kid you?

  6. I’m sure you’ll get the hang of it, so many things are practice, and camping is no exception. We are going camping this weekend too, but at wellington caves.

    Have fun!

  8. Crikey everyone’s going camping! I haven’t been to Foster - at least not in this lifetime or that I remember - so I’ll be waiting to hear all about it!
    Have a good one :)

  9. Camping is a lot of fun even though it’s a very different kind of holiday. Gramps & me used to go every year at Easter, gold-panning out near Mudgee & took your Mum with us for the first time when she was only 6 months old. We even went when Kevin & Andrew were only 3 months old. I still love camping, but not so much in tents & in sleeping bags on mattresses any more because the body’s not so agile these days. I would love to become a “grey nomad”, travelling our beautiful country & stopping here & there in our camper van. I am hoping Grahampa & I will be able to do that in the not too distant future. Meanwhile, Immy, just enjoy the experience & have a lovely holiday & a happy Easter. I’ll be waiting to read all about it in your blog when you get back. See you soon, love you. xoxo Gran

  10. Not sure you should read my blog!

You’ll have a fantastic time. Personally, I couldn’t think of anything worse, and I told your mother the same thing today! But, you’re a kid, so you’ll enjoy it. If not, there’s always chocolate!!

  15. Immy, you clever, clever girl! You should have told me earlier you were keepin’ a secret little blog over here! Now I can come and see what you’ve been up to behind Mommy’s back! ;)

P.S. Just a suggestion, Sweetie, but wouldn’t it be FUN to sleep in your very own sleeping bag instead of star-fish sprawling on poor Mommy for the weekend? Now, now… don’t give me that look… like I said… just a suggestion… :D

  16. Immy! Ignore my last sleep deprived comment! For some reason I was thinking Ivy and that your Mum was being funny writing a blog for Ivy… yikes! Then it just dawned on me… Immy… she’s almost a teenager! Goodness! I hope you don’t ban me from the site… my most humble apologies!

And I think you’ll do swimmingly well even though you’re not a camping girl. Hope to hear you’ve had a ton of fun when you get back. (Tell your Mom about my blunder… she’ll get a kick out of it I’m sure… In my defense I haven’t gotten more than 2 hours of consecutive sleep since Sunday… not that that will make amends for referring to you as a toddler, but it’s a rational explanation anyway) :P
